Aug 21, 2020 Today is the 2nd of June, 2012 - The Mac OS binary distribution of ImageMagick seems to be stuck on release 11.3.0 (tar package contains version 6.7.5 from back in Feb of 2012). MacUpdate is displaying/linking to a 'Version 6.7.7', but the download contains version 6.7.5. I contacted the 'Wizards' at imagemagick.org. The brew command downloads and installs ImageMagick with many of its delegate libraries (e.g. JPEG, PNG, Freetype, etc). Homebrew no longer allows configurable builds; if you need different compile options (e.g. Librsvg support), you can download the ImageMagick Mac OS X distribution we provide. ImageMagick installer for Mac OS X
The installer puts ImageMagick into /opt/ImageMagick and adds it to your PATH by creating an entry in /etc/paths.d/.
These ImageMagick installers include the following delegates: bzlib fftw jng jpeg lcms lzma png ps tiff xml zlib, and now includes support for webp. The second installer requires XQuartz and adds fontconfig freetype x.
We’ve added a Ghostscript installer. Once installed, ImageMagick will be able to work with PDF and PS file formats.
